Night One

Well I did it! My first night without meds!

Granted it wasn't a great night by any means. I was extremely nervous going to bed. Very jittery and wired. So I knew that it would take awhile to fall asleep. The dark room really seemed to help though. I was asleep within 2 hours. Big improvement from 4-5 hours! I really just tried to concentrate on my breathing. 5 seconds inhale, 5 seconds exhale. That really seemed to help. Nathan woke up a lot last night though. He was up at 3:30, 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30. It's ok though. I didn't expect miracles. :)

But I did it. And that is what counts. I couldn't have done it without Brandon though. He came up to me last night and said "I really admire you for doing this." That made it much easier on me. Thanks honey!

Mandie- Good for you. I have noticed that if I turn the TV off at night I have doing better than ever before. Our room has black curtains and is painted kind of dark. It is a natural/nature color and it is very relaxing. It also makes for a really dark room at night. We have a dimmer switch on our bedroom that if Jude gets up in the middle of the night I can see to get back in the bed with out disturbing Freddy.

Good luck and yes I admire you for not taking meds too. Sleep is so important. So try to rid yourself from as much stress and worry as you can. That seems to help me. When I start stressing and worrying about something I start getting less sleep. Hugs.

I hope tonight is a little better than lastnight! I've learned to stay off the computer and limit TV after 8pm and that seems to help me!
