My first half marathon

At the start of my very first half marathon.  I was so nervous! But so excited too.  It was cold and early and dark.  I felt like I had prepared the best that I could, months and months of training starting all the way back to my Couch to 5K.  I was ready!
My bib number.  I thought it was a good sign that the number had 8s in it.  8 is my lucky number!
There could not have been a more beautiful setting for this race.  Downtown Indianapolis is so pretty.
Taken at the start.  Dawn was approaching and we were ready to run!

At the finish.  This was such a powerful moment for me.  Nathan ran out to greet me.  I was already in tears for the final 1/2 mile because it was setting in that I was actually doing it.  I was finishing what I started.  But when I saw Brandon and the boys with their adorable signs and big smiling faces, I lost it.  Nathan running to me was just the icing on the cake.  It was an amazing day for me.
Proud with my medal.

My sweet boys with their sign.  This was what I saw at the finish.

The other side of the sign.  I DID IT.
