How do people do this from birth???

Last night was the first night with Nathan sleeping in another room. He did ok. He went to sleep easily, but woke up around 1:00am to get into bed with us. I expected that.

I however, did not do ok. I didn't fall asleep until he came to bed with us. I just could not go to sleep knowing that he was in another room.

It really made me wonder how parents do this to their newborns. Makes my heart hurt just thinking about it.

*Im glad he did well for you! Im with you tho on the not sleeping.. I just can't imagine them in another room.. I just started watching the twins and I was a nervous wreck having them in lukas room.. I checked on them a few times to make sure they were ok.. then i eventually brought the one to my bed. LOL. i wouldn't be surprised if all 5 of us end up in bed together.

I have always had a hard time sleeping if the kids are in the other room. I just know they are ok if I can feel them. We finally got Carys to sleep in her own room before Lucy arrived and it does get easier. Dad had/has Carys duty at night while I have Lucy duty. It works well for us!

Transitions are always hard, but you can do it! Either that or buy a bigger bed that will fit all 5 of you! :-)

I don't know either. Seth is not in our bed, but he is in our room. he has a bed....but I don't know when he'll sleep in it. :) Transitions are hard.
